Our team in Leeds currently has an opening for a Senior Application Technologist

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and execute Application and Innovation projects to support the sales growth of Brenntag Nutrition in UK and Ireland.
• Ensure our Application and Innovation Centre is the local showcase of Brenntag Nutrition capabilities and a knowledge hub for our team, suppliers, and customers.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Manage a strong pipeline of projects supporting the development of our Nutrition business in the UK and Ireland.
• Projects include ingredient testing, formulation optimisation, troubleshooting, and innovative concept development.
• Maintain a focus on occupational and food safety for all activities in the Application and Innovation centre.
• Ensure the Application and Innovation centre has state-of-the-art equipment, aligned with industry standards and CAPEX plans.
• Support Technical Sales Managers with technical assistance, formulation support, and ad-hoc training.
• Assist with planning and delivering customer presentations on-site or at customer premises.

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology or related fields, with several years of experience in medium to large companies in the food & beverage industry, particularly in research and development.

Required skills include:

• Strong practical knowledge of functional ingredients such as emulsifiers, stabilisers, hydro-colloids, starches, fibres, etc.
• Solid application know-how across various food industry segments (bakery, convenience, dairy, beverages, etc.)
• Problem-solving skills
