Job Title: Senior Application Support Analyst

Location: Fully Remote

Are you an experienced Microsoft Dynamics AX specialist looking for your next challenge? If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. My client, a not-for-profit charitable organization with an excellent reputation, is about to undergo a major transformation programme to update their legacy Microsoft Dynamics AX estate. They are looking to recruit a Senior Application Support Analyst to join their business applications team.

The role will involve providing business as usual support for their existing Microsoft Dynamics AX estate while the current team focuses on the project delivery of the new estate. They seek candidates with a strong technical background in Microsoft Dynamics AX, scripting experience with T-SQL, and exposure to X++, which would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide second-line support for core Microsoft Dynamics AX and ISV modules, business systems integrations, and custom applications.
2. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues requiring third-line support.
3. Conduct root cause analysis, resolve issues, and implement preventive measures for data, application code, and user-generated system problems.
4. Translate and document solution requirements to achieve desired outcomes.
5. Design solutions considering cross-functional impacts, leveraging deep functional knowledge of AX modules like Finance, Supply Chain, and HR.
6. Assess, configure, and test functional changes, coordinating SMEs during UAT to ensure objectives are met.
7. Document specifications for development when requirements cannot be met through configuration.
8. Assist with deploying system updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal business disruption.
9. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless AX integration and operation.
10. Maintain user access, security, integrity, and system performance of business applications.
11. Monitor batch and integration processes, resolving related issues.
12. Share knowledge with team members to prevent single points of failure.
13. Manage third-party contractual relationships, ensuring effective communication and delivery for the benefit of the business.

Skills and Experience Required

1. Deep, hands-on experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including AX 2012.
2. Experience across various AX modules such as F&O, HR, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Asset Management.
3. Proficiency in Transact-SQL queries and understanding of AX Dynamics architecture.
4. Experience working with third-party application integrations and interfaces.
5. Proven troubleshooting skills and issue resolution techniques.
6. Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation.
