What You'll Do

1. Build, extend, and support our backend platforms to collect trusted business data.
2. Collaborate with other engineering groups to build instant-access APIs and streaming solutions that make it easy to consume business data.
3. Partner with our database teams to select and optimize the appropriate storage solutions for our scalability needs.
4. Create tools and services to continuously monitor and maintain high quality data
5. Make build-or-buy decisions that help us reach our business goals.

What It Takes To Succeed

1. Fluency in an object-oriented language (like Python or Java), SQL or NoSQL, Unix, and developing within a Continuous Integration/Deployment pipeline.
2. Proven experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems that power consumer apps or websites.
3. In-depth experience with building effective APIs (like REST or GraphQL).
4. Comfortable with performance analysis tools (e.g., tracers, profilers, debuggers, visualization tools).
5. Several years of relevant full-time working experience.
6. Curiosity to uncover promising solutions to new problems, and the persistence to carry your ideas through to an end goal.
7. Streaming and Apache Spark experience are a plus.
