Job summary

Royal London Group in Alderley Park is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to help grow and evolve our mobile capability, delivering high-quality native Android experiences and new features for customers.

You will work with the Android team, collaborating with API and platform colleagues to shape engineering practices, write maintainable code, review peers, and mentor engineers as the mobile capability scales.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing native Android applications.
• Expertise in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose essential.
• Experience integrating Android apps with APIs and backend services.
• Experience writing maintainable, testable code and contributing to code reviews.
• Ability to take ownership of technical delivery and mentor engineers.
• Clear communication and collaborative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver high-quality native Android features and enhancements.
• Contribute to technical decisions and help turn customer and business needs into effective mobile solutions.
• Support and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and helping the team maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with API, platform, product and wider technology teams to deliver reliable mobile experiences.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to reviews, testing and continuous improvement.
• Champion effective Android engineering practices as our mobile capability grows.
