Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com in London is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design robust architectures and deliver high-performance features for millions of monthly active users. You will collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend teams to translate user needs into scalable mobile solutions.

You will lead feature development, enforce MVVM/Clean Architecture, mentor peers, and ensure code quality through automated tests and CI/CD.

Qualifications

Proven Android development experience with apps on Google Play.
Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Android architecture.
Experience with Jetpack Compose and dependency injection.
Proficient with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
Experience with Git, Gradle, and setting up CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and maintainable features using modern Android technologies.
Drive best practices in mobile architecture (MVVM/ Clean Architecture). Maintain exceptionally high code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Continuously monitor, profile, and optimize app performance, ensuring minimal battery usage, fast startup times, and smooth UI rendering.
Act as a technical authority within the team. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, foster a culture of knowledge sharing, and contribute to standardizing our engineering processes.
Work across functional boundaries with design, product, and platform teams to translate user needs into technical realities.
