It is essential that you are competent to deal with all types of Post Mortem examinations including high-risk cases.
Experience of supervising staff would be a distinct advantage. You will possess a positive and flexible attitude and ensure you uphold the Trust's core values at all times.
You will be based at Ipswich Hospital, however you may be required on occasion to cover Colchester Hospital. You will lead a small team of technical staff providing post mortem services to HM Coroner on behalf of ESNEFT.
Reporting to the Mortuary and Bereavement Services Lead the post holder shall ensure day to day services are delivered to the highest standards. You shall participate in provision of the out of hour's service to the Trust and HM Coroner.
You will be supported in the role by the Deputy Lead for Mortuary and Bereavement Services to use your skills to support the current team to develop the service in line with Human Tissue Authority requirements. To help you develop your leadership skills, the trust have leadership programmes available including other bite size training courses.
Main duties of the jobAccountable to the ESNEFT Designated Individual for Human Tissue Authority. Responsible for day to day line management of the team at their designated site, personnel policies (including recruitment, appraisal, CPD, attendance and disciplinary), budget management and professional standards for Mortuary.
Whilst cross site cover is not anticipated to be a common requirement it is expected that where necessary this is accommodated.
Ensures quality standards, performance monitoring, provision of management and statistical data requirements are met whilst maintaining professional and efficient services at all times.
Named as a "Person Designate" under the Human Tissue Authority Licence for the department. Responsible for the sensitive handling and disposal of human tissue in line with Trust policy, national guidance and legislation.
To assist the Strategic Operational Lead in the formulation of business cases and service development.
To provide training and advice to Trust staff and others as required.
