Job summary

Zoopla is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the data modelling infrastructure and pipelines that power a broad range of data products. You will own the analytics engineering workflow, ensure reliable orchestration, and act as a bridge between highly technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into engineering requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and developing dbt architecture with CI/CD practices (essential).
• Proficient SQL and data modelling for performance optimization (essential).
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI (essential).
• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with non-technical stakeholders (essential).
• Experience integrating dbt with other tools in the modern data stack (essential).
• Comfort harnessing AI workflows to expedite development at scale (essential).
• Experience with Databricks and AWS (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions) or similar cloud platform (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics engineering workflow and architecture for the data modelling layer at the heart of the business.
• Ensure orchestration runs smoothly, troubleshoot key pipelines, empower others to do the same.
• Translate business needs into engineering requirements through clear stakeholder communication.
• Deliver and enable teams to build transformed, tested, documented data sets for self-service insights.
• Proactively seek automation and optimization to unify the transformation layer across teams.
• Train and support others in dbt and data modelling best practices, with version control and CI.
