Compare the Market seeks an experienced Analytics Engineer to lead delivery across multiple data and analytics workstreams, partnering with Staff Analytics Engineers and engineering leadership.

You'll design, build, and maintain scalable analytics solutions using SQL, DBT, Python, and modern data platform technologies, ensuring reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability while mentoring engineers and driving best practices across data modelling, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL with DBT experience and analytics engineering focus.
• Strong Python or scripting ability for automation and data solutions.
• Proven track record delivering analytics, BI, and reporting at scale.
• Solid data modelling, testing, performance optimisation and reliability practices.
• Experience leading multiple workstreams and mentoring others.
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD, automation, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Interest in AI-enabled tooling and modern data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across multiple complex data and analytics workstreams.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable analytics with SQL, DBT, Python.
• Drive best practices in data modelling, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Technology and Data Platform teams to deliver data products and reporting.
• Own data incidents from identification to root cause analysis and prevention.
• Mentor and develop engineers and promote higher engineering standards.
