Job summary

Monzo Bank is seeking a data-focused professional to design and optimise our data models downstream of backend services. You will work with BigQuery, Data Warehouse concepts, and ETL pipelines to support internal reporting, analytics, and regulatory use cases.

The role emphasizes collaboration across cross-functional teams, continuous improvement, and on-call support. Remote within the UK is possible with occasional meetings in London, Cardiff, or remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong data modelling, ETL, and Big Data experience.
• Fluent SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with Python or similar languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working (Kanban/Scrum) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build robust data models downstream of backend services (BigQuery).
• Focus on reducing complexity and cost in the Data Warehouse.
• Define and manage best practices for payload design, data modelling, metadata and testing.
