Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

About the role
This role involves a wide range of challenging tasks and requirements, which will suit individuals passionate about technology, who enjoy working across a range of projects concurrently.
Core elements of the include:
- Design, develop, and maintain services and workflows on the Xurrent platform.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.
- Collaborate with product owners, platform teams, and end-users to build user-friendly service experiences.
- Develop and support integration between Xurrent and other enterprise platforms.
- Ensure solutions follow internal governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Ensure that development and configuration efforts are consistently aligned with UCL’s strategic goals.
- Help reduce technical debt by identifying and addressing legacy issues and inefficiencies across the services the team support.
- Manage the hand-over of implementations to operational support.
- Perform detailed technical planning for such implementations and configurations.
- Play an active role in advising on how UCL may deliver maximum return on its investment.
- Handle user feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement and turning insights into platform enhancements.
- Advise on best practice use of the system.
- Provide end users of the application with functional support.
- To train and support individual users on the features of the system, including floor-walking and trouble shooting.
- To liaise with end-users on operational procedures, standards and requests for system enhancements.
- Maintain awareness of published bugs; upgrade opportunities and future technical roadmaps.
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager or Director.
- Help support, develop and enhance other applications and platforms within the team.

About you
The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with the Xurrent platform.
- Experience of creating and maintaining complexed technical workflows and processes.
- Experience with Graph & REST APIs and integration best practices.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and practices.
- Understanding of key service management processes such as incident management, problem management, change management, release management, and service level management.
- Understanding and practical application of DevOps methodologies, principles, and best practices and proficiency in various DevOps tools.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with user experience design principles.
- Knowledge of platform governance, release management, and change control.
- Knowledge of other service management tooling.
- Ability to work in agile or iterative delivery environments.
- Understanding of both customer service and supplier management issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly in speech and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment, sharing knowledge and skills and developing productive working relationships as well as being able to use own initiative.
