Job summary

Kraken is seeking an experienced FIU/AML professional to scale transaction monitoring and compliance tooling. You will lead rule design, testing, and automation efforts, while partnering with Product, Engineering and Operations to expand monitoring across regions and products.

You will work in a fast-growing fintech environment, leveraging AI-enabled solutions to reduce false positives and improve detection quality, with emphasis on scalable, governance-driven processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AML or FIU operations experience.
• 3+ years designing, testing, tuning transaction monitoring rules.
• Experience with monitoring systems and case management tooling.
• Experience in regulated financial institutions (EU/UK/US preferred).
• Experience driving automation to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Ability to work with Product, Engineering, Data and Operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction monitoring optimization, rule testing and threshold tuning.
• Drive automation and workflow improvements across FIU processes.
• Evaluate and implement AI- and LLM-enabled compliance tools.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Operations on integrations and tooling.
• Collaborate with Compliance leadership to govern monitoring frameworks.
• Support FIU scalability into new products, regions and higher volumes.
