Job summary

Selby Jennings client is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer in London to drive adoption of AI across a high-frequency trading business. Working within a technology and data-led environment, you will partner directly with quantitative researchers, software engineers and business teams to identify high-value opportunities, then own the delivery of AI-powered tools from concept through to production. Responsibilities

• Build and operate production-grade AI applications, assistants and agentic workflows.
• Develop integrations connecting AI systems with internal tools, code repositories, databases and knowledge sources.
• Design AI agents capable of securely interacting with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Evaluate emerging models, frameworks, coding assistants and AI tooling against genuine business use cases.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience in Python, including building and operating production systems.
• Practical experience with modern AI platforms, large language models and agentic workflows.

• Excellent system design, debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• The ability to independently own complex projects, with exposure to quantitative research, trading technology or financial markets considered advantageous.
