Responsibilities

• Design and develop security solutions for AI-driven and agentic systems.
• Conduct traditional and AI-specific threat modelling and risk assessments.
• Embed security controls throughout the SDLC, from design to governance.
• Develop reusable security patterns, frameworks and standards for engineering teams.
• Support secure go-to-market processes for new products and capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure implementatation and handover of security solutions.
• Validate security hypotheses through PoCs and pilot solutions.
• Support scoping, build and industrialisation of AI-enabled InfoSec initiatives.
• Work with the AI Architect and Security Architecture team to align with strategic objectives.

Job description

Role: Senior AI Security Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months

Day rate: £600 - £650 Inside IR35

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer - AI to play a critical role in designing and embedding security controls across AI-driven and agentic systems. You will ensure secure-by-design principles are applied throughout the software development lifecycle while helping shape and deliver our reimagined Information Security vision.

This role will focus on the design, testing, piloting and deployment of security solutions that support the automation of security processes at scale across the design, build and maintain phases of solution delivery.

Working closely with stakeholders across the wider Information Security organisation, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defence, you will help deliver agentic security solutions that support our target operating model and future security strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop security solutions for AI-driven and agentic systems.
• Conduct both traditional and AI-specific threat modelling and risk assessments.
• Support the embedding of security controls throughout the end-to-end agentic SDLC, including design, testing, release and governance.
• Develop reusable security patterns, frameworks and standards for engineering teams.
• Support secure go-to-market processes for new products, services and capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and operational handover of security solutions.
• Validate security hypotheses through the hands-on development and testing of Proofs of Concept (POCs) and pilot solutions.
• Support the scoping, build and industrialisation of AI-enabled Information Security initiatives across the organisation.
• Work closely with the Principal InfoSec AI Architect and wider Information Security Architecture team to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives and architectural standards.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with:

• At least 7 years' experience within Information Security, ideally with a hands-on background in Application Security or Infrastructure Security.
• Strong understanding of core security principles, controls and architectures.
• Proven experience in:
• Threat modelling
• Secure system design
• Embedding security within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Exposure to AI and agentic systems, either through practical implementation or conceptual design, including:
• Security and governance for AI solutions, including identity, observability and risk management.
• Agentic architectures and patterns such as MCP, RAG, Tools, Memory and Harnesses.
• Experience working within complex, enterprise-scale environments.
• The ability to translate security requirements into practical, engineering-aligned solutions.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, testing and deploying security solutions that automate complex processes.
