Vanguard UK GIFS Lead Forward Deployed Engineer is a senior individual contributor partnering with business and IT to architect, build, and validate solutions from rapid experiments through early production.

You will mentor engineers, steer technical direction, and translate UK engagements into reusable patterns for broader GIFS adoption, working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant software, data, quantitative, or analytics engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical workstreams and delivering production-quality solutions.
• Experience supporting investment management, quantitative research, or related front-office analytical functions.
• Financial services experience and cloud-based data or AI platforms preferred.

Responsabilités

• Partner across UK Investment Management Group to shape high-value opportunities.
• Translate investment challenges into actionable technical opportunities across software, data, AI, ML, optimization, and human judgment.
• Architect, build, and validate solutions from rapid experimentation through MVP and initial deployment.
• Lead productionalisation of research code, models, tools, and high-risk EUCTs with strong testing and data lineage.
• Establish scalable engineering patterns for AI-enabled solutions with reusable components and controls.
• Exercise senior technical judgment with multiple governance teams on refinement and retirement decisions.
• Lead hands-on delivery, mentor engineers, and resolve complex delivery barriers.
• Translate engagements into reusable code and patterns for broader GIFS adoption.
