Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Manager) to lead AI strategy and oversee end-to-end AI/ML initiatives across the firm. The role reports to the AI Platform Owner and manages a team of IT professionals and external providers.

The ideal candidate will have deep machine learning expertise, cloud experience, and a proven ability to drive AI initiatives that align with business goals. Based in Belfast or London, this role sits on-site within the IT (EA & Technology Platforms) team.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, data analysis, and software development.
• Experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Azure experience is a plus.
• Proven track record in leading large global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of advanced AI and ML use cases across the firm.
• Manage and motivate a team of IT professionals and direct external third-party service providers.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions from development to deployment and integration.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to map AI use cases to business outcomes and drive value.
