Job summary

Vodafone VOIS is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to define and lead the technical direction of an AI-native Internal Developer Platform in London. You will enable product and engineering teams to build, deploy, operate, and scale software safely and efficiently.

The role focuses on self-service capabilities, reusable patterns, and governance across a large enterprise cloud ecosystem, with collaboration across product, security, and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating internal developer platforms or cloud-native platforms.
• Expertise across cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and platform security.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Go, Python, or Java) and building platform APIs/tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical roadmap for the internal developer platform as a product with adoption and reliability outcomes.
• Design self-service capabilities, reusable golden paths, and standard service templates.
• Contribute to cloud-native platform architecture including compute, Kubernetes, networking, and IaC.
• Integrate AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve delivery speed and code quality.
• Establish governance, security, and compliance guardrails via policy-as-code.
