Job summary

VOIS, Vodafone Intelligent Solutions, is looking for a Lead AI Software Engineer to steer AI-driven software delivery across squads and platform capabilities. This senior, hands-on role blends deep software engineering with judicious use of AI-native practices to produce scalable, secure, production-ready code.

You will collaborate with Tech Leads, Architects, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to drive implementation quality, testing, and operational readiness while guiding AI coding

Qualifications

• Significant production software experience in complex environments.
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot expertise, plus React or Angular familiarity.
• Proven RESTful APIs, microservices, platform services experience.
• Cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, containers, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with event-driven tech like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Ability to lead software delivery within agile teams and guide AI coding agents.

Responsibilities

• Lead build execution within a squad or domain.
• Translate designs and specs into actionable implementation plans.
• Break down designs into sequenced, testable delivery increments.
• Mentor engineers and AI coding agents through implementation and release.
• Deliver complex software components and ensure quality, security, and maintainability.
• Review AI-generated and human-written code for correctness and security.
• Drive automated testing, observability, and production readiness.
