CommonAI is building shared infrastructure and products to help organisations develop and deploy deep-tech AI systems. We are seeking a capable software engineer who combines strong engineering fundamentals with a practical approach to AI-assisted development.

You will design, build and ship customer-facing multi-cloud AI compute products, develop coding agents across the full lifecycle, and take ownership of code correctness and security while working with founders, engineers and customers to

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals evidenced by shipped software.
• AI-native workflow: actively use agents with verification.
• Sharp debugging judgement to read unfamiliar code and isolate root causes.
• Comfortable in Linux with deployment/ops exposure (containers, CI/CD, cloud, IaC).
• Clear communication and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship customer-facing multi-cloud AI compute products.
• Develop coding agents across the full lifecycle: investigation, design, implementation, testing, review, documentation and ops.
• Take ownership of the correctness and security of your code and agent output.
• Build and operate cloud-native systems across multiple providers; diagnose Linux, network, container and cloud issues.
• Work directly with founders, engineers and customers to turn ideas into production systems.
• Critically evaluate new AI tools and adopt what matters in the industry.
• Shape architecture, lead substantial technical decisions and improve engineering practices.
