Job summary

HCLTech in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and ship AI systems used by lawyers and business teams. You will own end‑to‑end solutions from architecture to production service.

You will build agentic and retrieval‑augmented systems, integrate with SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 estate, and mentor engineers and data scientists. Strong Python, production engineering and cost‑aware decision making are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional experience across data science, machine learning and software engineering.
• PhD or equivalent research record preferred in ML, CS, or related field.
• Experience delivering AI systems in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build production agentic and RAG systems over firm documents.
• Design end-to-end pipelines from data sources to user service, focusing on speed, security and scale.
• Own architecture, code, deployment, monitoring and improvements.
• Prototype quickly and iterate with real users.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists, review work, and assign challenging problems.
• Share learnings through internal write-ups and presentations.
