Harrington Starr is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and maintain production-grade AI pipelines and agentic systems for cutting-edge investment strategies and client services. The role emphasizes ownership of end-to-end AI solutions in a production environment, with hands-on development and deployment responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python/Data engineering skills, and a track record of delivering scalable AI/ML

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1-2 years building production AI/ML systems.
• Expertise in Python, data engineering, and modern AI tooling (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex)
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying end-to-end RAG pipelines in production environments
• Strong understanding of AI concepts like embeddings, transformer models, and prompt engineering
• Ability to work autonomously, identify opportunities, and drive initiatives to completion
• Passion for cutting-edge AI and a desire to push the boundaries of what's possible

Responsibilities

• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines over unstructured data using embeddings, vector databases, and graph databases
• Implement robust multi-agent workflows where specialized AI agents coordinate to solve complex tasks
• Ensure the security, governance, and ethical use of AI systems through prompt injection defenses, output filtering, and data privacy controls
• Fine-tune and adapt open-source AI models to meet the firm's unique requirements
• Build high-performance backend services and APIs to expose AI capabilities to internal and external users
