Job summary

DATAPAO is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join remotely in the UK as our first AI hire. You will lead engagements to build and productionize AI applications on the Databricks platform, owning the technical delivery whether solo or as Delivery Tech Lead for a small team.

You will work across project planning, architecture, and client-facing delivery, advising on Generative AI and ML challenges for EMEA clients, while enabling customer teams and ensuring scalable production solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in AI or Machine Learning Engineering with a focus on cloud platforms.
• Proficient in MLOps using MLflow from development to production pipelines.
• Experience building production systems in Databricks or similar enterprise cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of LLMs and related frameworks/libraries.
• Strong Python knowledge and data visualization skills.
• Bonus: PyTorch/TF or Spark experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements to build and productionize tailored AI applications on Databricks.
• Own the technical delivery of AI solutions, solo or leading a delivery team.
• Define architecture and roadmap for AI and Generative AI solutions.
• Serve as primary technical contact for customers and advisors for EMEA.
• Build robust production-grade architectures and enable client teams through workshops.
