Job summary

Citi London seeks a Lead AI Engineer to blend hands-on engineering with architectural leadership. You will work with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate problems into scalable AI solutions, shaping the platform strategy and roadmaps.

The role focuses on Generative AI, AI Agents, and modern engineering practices, with a strong emphasis on secure, compliant delivery and mentoring other engineers in Python/Java and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
• Strong hands-on development in Python and Java; experience with both is highly desirable.
• Experience with Generative AI and AI Agents, ideally including Google ADK.
• Ability to shape technical strategy and roadmaps; comfortable with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead technical components end-to-end, aligned with objectives.
• Work directly with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate problems into solutions.
• Shape product roadmaps, technical strategy and priorities with the team lead.
• Design, develop and test scalable, production-quality AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and drive CI/CD practices.
