Job summary

Arm Limited is seeking a Principal Eng Plat AI Architect to define and drive AI embedding across Arm's engineering platforms, toolchains and workflows. You will shape target architectures for AI-enabled silicon design, software development, CI/CD and HPC, balancing scale, latency and cost.

This senior IC role partners with platform and security leaders to ensure reusable patterns, provenance protection and reliable production operation across engineering domains.

Qualifications

• Led architecture for complex engineering platforms or technical computing ecosystems at scale.
• Designed production AI solutions including generative AI, agentic systems and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, artefact management, build systems and developer tooling.
• Experience with scalable, distributed, compute-intensive workloads (throughput, latency, concurrency, scheduling).
• Knowledge of identity, secrets, permissions, software supply-chain controls, auditability for AI workflows.
• Defined target architectures, reference patterns and non-functional requirements for reliable production operations.
• Ability to influence senior engineers and leaders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain target architecture and roadmaps for AI-enabled engineering across software development and engineering operations.
• Translate priorities and market insights into decisions on build, buy, reuse, platform fit and lifecycle.
• Create practical patterns for engineering agents, retrieval, model access, tool use, orchestration, context, evaluation, observability and production support.
• Define integration patterns across source control, CI/CD, artefact management, IDEs, APIs and schedulers.
• Set architecture for identity, secrets, permissions, tool execution, approvals, traceability and safe shutdown.
• Shape how AI accesses source code, design artefacts and telemetry while protecting provenance and IP.
• Lead significant AI design decisions and advise design authorities balancing scale, latency and cost.
• Mentor and develop capability through reusable guidance with platform and data/security teams.
