Job summary

L3Harris in Brighton is seeking a Systems Engineer (Safety) to support the development, integration, and verification of complex aerospace systems. You will help define system requirements and architecture while embedding safety throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires experience in safety engineering, together with cross-disciplinary collaboration and formal design reviews. Hybrid working is available; UK security, relocation and eligibility checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex engineering systems (aerospace/defence) required.
• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience or exposure to system safety engineering.
• Experience managing technical documentation and requirements.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, Def Stan 00-056.
• Hazard analysis experience (FMEA, FHA, FTA).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system requirements with traceability.
• Define system architecture/interfaces across mechanical, electrical and software.
• Contribute to system integration, verification and validation.
• Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and test readiness.
• Maintain engineering documentation and verification plans.
• Support Hazard Logs and safety artefacts.
• Collaborate with design, engineering teams and stakeholders.
