Job summary

GKN Aerospace at Filton seeks a Senior Analysis Engineer to independently assess, check, and approve stress analyses of aircraft structures. You will work on both composite and metallic components, applying classical methods and modern FEM tools to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and airworthiness requirements.

The role requires 8+ years of relevant experience, UK defence eligibility, and the ability to sign off on approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in engineering.
• 8+ years of stress analysis on composite and metallic structures.
• Aerospace or aerostructures experience preferred.
• Eligible to hold stress approval sign-off if required.
• Experience with Nastran/Patran and Simcenter.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis using classical methods for composite and metallic structures.
• Develop, implement and verify technical solutions and compliance documentation.
• Hold approval stress signatory on Filton projects where required.
• Address concessions and non-conformances; provide technical support.
• Develop methods plans and toolsets aligned with project objectives.
• Identify technical risk and propose mitigations.
• Create and check test specifications and alternate means of compliance.
• Ensure designs meet cost and manufacturing requirements using DFMA.
