Job summary

Lewisham Council seeks an experienced Advanced Practitioner in social work to lead a team of social workers and family practitioners, oversee duties, and deputise for the team manager. You will ensure high-quality services for children and families, including those with disabilities.

The role requires strong leadership, supervision, and safeguarding expertise, with a focus on delivering impactful outcomes through collaboration with other professionals and agencies.

Qualifications

• Leadership and staff supervision for a team of social workers and family practitioners.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and statutory duties for children in need and looked after.
• Ability to mentor staff and coordinate across multiple professionals and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Direct work with children and families under child in need, child protection and/or legal framework.
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure coordinated support for adolescents.
• Depose for the team manager and lead a team of social workers and practitioners.
• Monitor team performance and implement service improvements.
• Line supervise apprentices and senior family practitioners.
