Job summary

Lewisham Council is recruiting experienced social workers to join the Child Protection and Adolescent Protection Teams. You will lead on safeguarding cases, chair child protection conferences, and work across Family Help and Care divisions to deliver effective services for children and families in a diverse borough.

The role requires substantial post‑qualifying experience, knowledge of current safeguarding frameworks, and a commitment to reform as part of Families First for Children.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience.
• Strong knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and relevant guidance.
• Ability to lead complex frontline practice and chair meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead S47 enquiries and chair strategy discussions and conferences.
• Manage complex frontline operational practice as a case holder.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard children and young people.
