Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group seeks a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst to advance AI-powered analytics across the Commercial Analytics team. You’ll leverage Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Looker and Power BI to turn complex data into actionable insights that improve customer outcomes and business performance.

Based in Edinburgh or Bristol in a hybrid role, you will collaborate with Savings, Pricing, Product and Platform teams to translate priorities into analytical solutions and build semantic models

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' analytics, BI or data science experience in a commercial setting.
  • Strong SQL skills and cloud-based data platforms (GCP/BigQuery).
  • Experience using data to solve business problems and influence decisions.
  • Excellent data storytelling and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Generative BI, AI-enabled insights, and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver advanced analytics and Generative BI solutions with measurable value.
  • Work with large-scale datasets on GCP/BigQuery to uncover actionable insights.
  • Build semantic models and self-service analytics for conversational insights.
  • Partner with Savings, Pricing, Product and Platform teams to translate priorities into solutions.
  • Transform complex analysis into compelling stories and visuals for diverse audiences.
  • Support adoption of emergent AI capabilities and responsible data practices.

TITLE: Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst

SALARY: £72,700 - £80,780
LOCATIONS: Edinburgh or Bristol
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

As a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst, you'll join our Commercial Analytics team at an exciting stage of that journey. Working with modern cloud technologies, Generative BI capabilities and advanced analytics tools, you'll help turn complex data into clear, commercially meaningful insights that improve customer outcomes and drive business performance.

You'll work alongside colleagues across Savings, Pricing, Product, Platform and Analytics teams, using large-scale datasets and advanced analytical techniques to solve real business challenges. From understanding customer behaviour and identifying commercial opportunities to shaping pricing decisions and supporting strategic outcomes, your work will have genuine impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Looker, Power BI and emerging conversational analytics capabilities. You'll be joining at a pivotal time as we continue to expand our use of AI-powered analytics, conversational insight experiences and modern cloud technologies. Day to day, you'll
  • Develop and deliver advanced analytics and Generative BI solutions that support smarter business decisions and create measurable value
  • Work with large-scale datasets using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery and modern analytics tools to uncover actionable insights
  • Build semantic models and self-service analytics capabilities that power conversational analytics and AI-enabled insight experiences
  • Partner with stakeholders across Savings, Pricing, Product and Platform teams to translate business priorities into analytical solutions
  • Transform complex analysis into compelling stories, recommendations and visualisations for audiences ranging from technical specialists to senior leaders
  • Support the adoption of emerging AI capabilities, responsible data practices and continuous improvement across the Group

Some of the things you'll need…
  • 3+ years' experience delivering analytics, business intelligence or data science solutions in a commercial environment
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly GCP and BigQuery
  • Experience using data to solve business problems, identify opportunities and influence decision making
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear and engaging insight
  • Experience developing dashboards, reporting solutions or self-service analytics capabilities
  • A curious mindset and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, analytics and AI
  • Experience working with Generative BI, conversational analytics or AI-enabled insight solutions, helping make data more accessible and decision-making more intuitive
  • Experience developing dashboards, semantic models and self-service analytics capabilities using tools such as Looker, LookML and Power BI
  • Knowledge of Python and advanced analytical techniques
  • An understanding of data governance, responsible AI principles and analytical best practice
