Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group in Edinburgh or Bristol is seeking a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst to help shape AI-powered analytics and generate actionable insights using GCP, BigQuery, Looker, and Power BI.

You will join the Commercial Analytics team, translating business priorities into analytical solutions, building semantic models and dashboards, and leveraging Generative BI to support decision making across multiple business areas.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' analytics experience in a commercial environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud-based data platforms (GCP/BigQuery).
  • Experience using data to solve business problems, identify opportunities and influence decision making.
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reporting solutions or self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Curious mindset and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, analytics and AI.
  • Experience with Generative BI or AI-enabled insight solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver advanced analytics and Generative BI solutions that support smarter business decisions and create measurable value.
  • Work with large-scale datasets using GCP, BigQuery and modern analytics tools to uncover actionable insights.
  • Build semantic models and self-service analytics capabilities powering conversational analytics and AI-enabled insights.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Savings, Pricing, Product and Platform teams to translate business priorities into analytical solutions.
  • Transform complex analysis into compelling stories, recommendations and visualisations for audiences from technical specialists to senior leaders.
  • Support the adoption of emerging AI capabilities and responsible data practices across the Group.

As a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst, you’ll join our Commercial Analytics team at an exciting stage of that journey. Working with modern cloud technologies, Generative BI capabilities and advanced analytics tools, you’ll help turn complex data into clear, commercially meaningful insights that improve customer outcomes and drive business performance. You’ll work alongside colleagues across Savings, Pricing, Product, Platform and Analytics teams, using large‑scale datasets and advanced analytical techniques to solve real business challenges. From understanding customer behaviour and identifying commercial opportunities to shaping pricing decisions and supporting strategic outcomes, your work will have genuine impact. This is an exciting opportunity to work with technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Looker, Power BI and emerging conversational analytics capabilities. You’ll be joining at a pivotal time as we continue to expand our use of AI‑powered analytics, conversational insight experiences and modern cloud technologies. Day to day, you’ll

  • Develop and deliver advanced analytics and Generative BI solutions that support smarter business decisions and create measurable value
