Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Professional software engineering experience owning significant services or components within a multi-service environment.
• Proven ability to design and build backend or full-stack systems with RESTful APIs, data models and integration patterns.
• Experience applying sound software engineering practices including OO/functional design, automated testing, code reviews, source control, and CI/CD for production systems.
• Hands-on experience supporting services in production with monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain availability and performance; familiarity with AI-enabled tools in development or operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve high-quality software services and components, including system design and data modeling for scalable products.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features across services or domains, including requirements clarifications, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams to define technical direction, standards, and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Improve reliability, performance, security, and observability via robust engineering practices, code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
• Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and knowledge sharing to raise technical bar.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes in line with Expedia Group standards.
