Job summary

Kent County Council is seeking a Senior Early Help Adolescent Unit Worker to support vulnerable youths across the county. The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, collaboration with families and partner agencies, and targeted interventions to promote safe home environments.

The post offers regular supervision, specialist adolescent training, and flexible working options including home working and office sites. 29–30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a concessionary day are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children, young people and families in a similar role or setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection and relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills; good IT skills.
  • Ability to travel across a wide geographical area.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking assessments, making plans, and providing intensive support.
  • Mediate and promote young people remaining safely at home with their family and support networks.
  • Linking young people in with Family Hubs and other partner agencies to ensure needs are met.
  • Gather and interpret information/data from a range of sources.
