Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Specialist Doctor in Acute Oncology to lead the development of an Acute Oncology Service within Forth Valley Hospital. The post is locum, part-time (7 PAs), with a fixed-term salary scale of £104,401–£115,342 per annum pro rata.

A key aspect is education and collaboration, including training Primary and Secondary care teams, to optimise diagnostics and early interventions to reduce hospital admissions.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and licence to practise.

Responsibilities

• Liaison advice and review for inpatients modelled on the palliative care team model.
• Acute oncology hot clinics – referrals may include symptom management, SACT toxicity or diagnostics for new cancer diagnoses or unknown origin.
• Outpatient follow-up after hot clinics and admissions, including phone support with Oncology CNS team and outpatient supportive therapies.
