We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Actuary to join the Retail Actuarial & Reinsurance (RAR) team at Just and lead the reinsurance function. As a Senior Actuary, you will manage and optimise the reinsurance of all Retail products, including providing expertise in the review and modelling of all technical aspects of those products and their reinsurance.

Role Overview

Reporting into the Retail Actuarial & Reinsurance Director, you will lead the Retail Reinsurance work, including developing reinsurance strategy, tools & MI, and liaising with stakeholders. You will also be part of the RAR leadership team and support or lead Pricing work as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain tools and models to evaluate reinsurance arrangements.
2. Analyze costs and benefits of reinsurance arrangements.
3. Ensure treaty terms are reflected accurately in pricing and reports.
4. Negotiate, document, and execute reinsurance agreements.
5. Maintain relationships with related departments for consistent understanding.
6. Explore solutions to optimize risk and capital management.
7. Ensure accurate and secure data exchange with reinsurers.
8. Collaborate on team projects and resource management.

Skills and Experience

1. Qualified FIA, FFA or equivalent.
2. Degree in a mathematical subject or equivalent.
3. Proven experience as Senior Actuary in UK life/annuity industry.
4. Experience with longevity swaps and/or full quota share reinsurance.
5. Ability to manage workloads and mentor juniors.
6. Experience in drafting technical documents.
7. Strong analytical and modelling skills.
8. Excellent IT skills, especially in Excel/VBA; Python or other coding advantageous.
