About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an analytical, methodical individual to join our established Protection Pricing team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst.
Within this role, there will be growth and development opportunities, so we are also open to receiving applications from strong Actuarial Analysts who are looking to take the next step within their career.
You will utilise your specialist technical knowledge and experience to support individual Protection Pricing (Life, Critical Illness and Income Protection products) and contribute towards the team’s delivery of targets to agreed time and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the team with a wide range of tasks relating to pricing, proposition, modelling, reinsurance, distribution, assumption setting and other commercial actuarial work.
- Consistently delivering complex work in an accurate and timely manner.
- Following and understanding processes that use complex mathematical formulas, particularly around advanced statistics and modelling.
- Using spreadsheets/specialist software to manage processes and complete data analysis tasks.
- Creating reports to confirm your findings and explain your calculations in a user-friendly format, for others in your area of expertise and non-specialists.
- Ensuring all applicable LVFS policies and processes are followed.
- Providing informal guidance to Actuarial Analysts and more junior Senior Analysts.
- Contributing to and supporting your team’s continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining your own awareness of the latest commercial and technical developments.
- Deputising for your manager when required and appropriate.
- Providing training to junior colleagues when required.
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
- If studying towards a professional qualification, be a part qualified actuary, certified actuarial analyst (CAA) or qualified by experience.
- Have a great eye for detail, with the ability to spot and rectify any errors.
- Demonstrate fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Have an understanding of actuarial modelling software and calculations, ideally Prophet.
- Mainly be able to work independently with minimal guidance (training on key systems and LV= processes will be provided).
