Company Overview

We are representing a rapidly growing organization in Nottingham City Centre, recruiting for a Senior Cashier/Senior Accounts Assistant. This role offers excellent career growth opportunities within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Post cash daily accurately and promptly.
  2. Perform and maintain bank reconciliations.
  3. Train new starters.
  4. Investigate outstanding cash received and differences in bank reconciliations, BACS returns, and OOD cheques.
  5. Manage month-end processes.
  6. Run daily ABTs.
  7. Serve as the central point of contact for cashiering queries.
  8. Review and clear cashier inbox.
  9. Confirm alias acceptance for all payments received under different names.
  10. Support and cover the Manager in cashiering roles.
  11. Manage bank transfers and monthly bank interest.
  12. Update and sign daily checklists.
  13. Process daily tax receipts and carry out banking activities.
  14. Handle daily post (cheques/remittances) and undertake ad hoc duties or projects.

  • High accuracy and numeracy skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organized, proactive, and responsible.
  • Team player capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Intermediate Excel skills (V-lookups, PivotTables).
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience in Cashiering or Sales Ledger.
  • Formal qualifications such as AAT or equivalent are advantageous.
