Butler Rose is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior / Senior to join its Suffolk practice. The role involves preparing year-end statutory accounts, managing a varied client portfolio, and providing VAT and corporation tax support.

You will liaise with clients and HMRC, supervise juniors, and help drive business development. The ideal candidate will have accountancy practice experience, with VAT and tax computation knowledge, and be AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience.

• Experience preparing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Experience with VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
• AAT qualification or ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified, or qualified by experience.

An established and growing accounting firm is looking for a practice accountant to join it's team. Working with a varied portfolio of business and personal clients, you will play an important role in delivering a range of accountancy services, building strong client relationships and providing practical support to help businesses manage and develop their finances.

Role Responsibilities

• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Preparation of accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses and larger corporate structures.
• Preparation of corporation tax computations and supporting tax information.
• Preparation and review of VAT returns.
• Preparation of management accounts and other financial information where required.
• Maintaining regular contact with clients, responding to queries and obtaining relevant information to complete assignments.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and advice to clients.
• Ensuring accounts and associated compliance work are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Personal Requirements

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and relevant statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience with VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
• AAT qualified, ACCA / ACA part-qualified or qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A proactive approach, with an interest in understanding clients' businesses and providing a quality service.
