Job summary

DaySmart Software is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our UK-based finance team. You will drive monthly closes, deliver accurate financial reporting, and provide insightful variance analysis in a fast-growing environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems. Flexibility for later ET overlap with US teams is preferred, with remote, hybrid, or in-person options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) is a plus.
• CPA certification is a plus, with preference given to candidates pursuing this credential.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review financial results, including balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide financial analysis and variance support to management with actionable insights.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in finance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare for audits and ensure compliance with standards.
• Thrive in ambiguous situations, making informed decisions with limited information.
