Markel International Finance seeks a Senior Accountant to lead financial and regulatory reporting for MIICL, partnering across Finance, Actuarial, Compliance and the wider business to strengthen controls and provide insights into performance.

You will support UK GAAP statements, audits, US GAAP work, and Solvency UK SFCR, while driving process improvements and ensuring timely delivery.

Formación

• Fully qualified accountant with UK non-life insurance experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK Financial and Regulatory reporting.
• Excellent analytical and data interrogation skills.
• Advanced Excel and ability to handle large datasets.
• Data-driven with curiosity to explain numbers.
• Experience using reporting tools to improve efficiency.
• Attention to detail and ability to explain outputs to senior stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset to improve processes and controls.
• Able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Support the production of the annual MIICL UK GAAP financial statements and quarterly board papers.
• Responsible for information for the audit process ensuring reconciliations and samples are provided.
• Ensure the financial statements are signed off within the agreed timeline.
• Assist with quarterly US GAAP reporting and analysis for Markel International.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual Solvency UK SFCR for MIICL.
• Take ownership of the quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process for MIICL.
• Liaise with Actuarial, Capital, Legal and Compliance, Internal Audit, US Corporate Finance and other Finance team members.
• Become familiar with Markel’s systems and participate in finance project work as required.
