Job summary

Blusource Professional Services Ltd is recruiting a Senior Accountant / Accounts Manager for a leading accountancy firm near Huntingdon. Hybrid working with up to 2 days from home, great offices, and strong study support.

This role offers career development and regular salary review to reward performance. You will prepare year-end financial statements for SMEs, compute Corporation Tax, complete Self-Assessment, advise on tax efficiency, and liaise with HMRC.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with proven post-qualification experience in practice. Part-qualified candidates will be considered if they have ample experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalise year-end financial statements for small and medium-sized entities.
• Prepare Corporation Tax computations and returns.
• Complete Self-Assessment tax returns for directors, business owners and partners.
• Provide proactive, value-added advice on tax efficiency, accounting systems and compliance.
• Respond to client queries via email, phone and in-person meetings.
• Identify opportunities to deliver additional services to existing clients.
• Assist in implementing and improving internal processes, systems and technology.
• Ensure client files and working papers comply with ICAEW guidelines.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge on legislation and accounting standards.
• Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Support the bookkeeping team and assist with ad hoc assignments including management accounts, budgeting and cashflow forecasting.
• Undertake additional duties to support partners and the smooth running of the practice.
