Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory seeks a Senior Accountant to lead a finance team and provide timely financial analysis and planning for the business. You will monitor performance against targets, advise on the financial implications of decisions and deputise for the Finance Business Partner.

You will manage budgeting across horizons, deliver cost accounting services, partner with operations to identify risks, and drive improvements while supporting team development.

Qualifications

• Experience providing financial support to operational managers.
• Strong knowledge of operational and commercial finance.
• Experience using large ERP systems (Unit4 Business World beneficial).
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis competence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating timely, insightful financial analysis to monitor performance against targets via a team of accountants.
• Coordinating financial planning across multiple budget holders and planning horizons.
• Coordinating cost centre / management accounting services for the area.
• Partnering with operations to identify, evaluate and manage risk/opportunities.
• Partnering with operations to identify and implement action plans delivering target performance.
• Delivering continuous improvement within the function and area.
• Providing technical accounting guidance across the area.
• Ensuring financial policies are applied and processes adhered to.
• Managing and developing a team of accountants, supporting study for professional qualifications.
