Job summary

AGS in Ulverston is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance function at a pivotal stage of development. This hands-on role covers financial control, reporting and compliance across multiple group entities, with the chance to contribute to the first statutory audit under a new group structure.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration, you will manage month-end close, prepare management accounts, and support VAT, payroll reporting and taxation.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and UK GAAP/FRS 102 experience.
• Experience in a financial accounting/control environment and with audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage core financial control activities across group entities.
• Complete bank, balance sheet, GL and intercompany reconciliations.
• Own month-end close and consolidate financial results.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with KPIs and variance analysis.
• Support VAT reporting, payroll-related reporting and tax calculations.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
