Job summary

Rimaya in Helston, Cornwall, seeks a Senior Accountant to join its growing practice. You will handle technical accounting, taxation, client relationships and team supervision, managing a diverse client portfolio and assisting with day-to-day operations.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent and at least five years in an accountancy environment, with strong software skills (Xero/QuickBooks/Sage) and excellent communication. A supportive, stable firm with development opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' accountancy practice experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, taxation and VAT.
• Experience managing client relationships and supervising team members.
• Proficiency with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and time management.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new clients and support with online accounting systems.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; act as key contact.
• Liaise with HMRC on queries; respond to client queries.
• Prepare Self-Assessment, VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
• Manage payroll and CIS-related work; supervise junior staff.
• Prepare and finalise accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Identify opportunities for value-added services.
• Lead client tax review meetings; ensure regulatory compliance.
