Job summary

Trial Balance in Helston is seeking an Accounts Senior to join a friendly, collaborative team servicing a varied client portfolio. You will lead accounting and taxation work, review statutory accounts, CT and VAT returns, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires ACA/ACCA or part-qualified candidates with strong technical knowledge and excellent client-facing skills. You will be a proactive advisor and key contact for clients and HMRC.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified candidates, although applications are welcome from qualified-by-experience accountants with a strong background in accountancy practice.
• You’ll have excellent technical knowledge, experience managing a varied client portfolio and the confidence to build lasting relationships with clients.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a pro-active approach to client service will all be essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and providing ongoing accounting and taxation support.
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns.
• Reviewing and submitting VAT returns.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, HMRC and colleagues, resolving queries and providing practical advice.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Assisting Managers and Partners with client projects and wider practice initiatives.
