Job summary

Wise Monkey Recruitment ltd is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing South Wales accountancy practice. You will manage a client portfolio, deliver accounts, tax and advisory services, and build strong client relationships.

Essential skills include 3+ years in a UK practice, ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience, and strong accounts/CT/VAT knowledge. You’ll review juniors' work and contribute to practice growth, with on-site office duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or qualified by experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts, corporation tax and VAT.
• Experience managing a portfolio of external clients.
• Confident communicating with clients and building trusted relationships.
• Commercially aware with ability to identify opportunities to add value.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to take ownership of your workload and deliver to deadlines.
• Comfortable reviewing work and supporting more junior colleagues.
• Positive, professional approach with a commitment to client service.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of limited companies, Sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Provide advisory services and build long-term client relationships.
• Review junior team work and offer coaching and guidance.
• Keep up to date with changing accounting, tax and company legislation.
