Wise Monkey Recruitment Ltd in South Wales is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing accountancy practice. You will manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, delivering accounts, tax and advisory services while building strong client relationships.

This role also involves reviewing work of junior team members, guiding the team, meeting deadlines, and staying up to date with accounting and tax changes. UK practice experience and professional qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting personal tax compliance
• Reviewing bookkeeping records and VAT returns
• Preparing management accounts and providing financial analysis
• Identifying tax planning and business improvement opportunities
• Meeting with clients to discuss accounts and plans
• Developing strong, long-term client relationships
• Reviewing work by junior staff and providing coaching
• Managing workload effectively to meet deadlines
• Keeping up to date with accounting, tax and company law changes
