Job summary

Reed Practice, in partnership with a modern independent general practice, is recruiting a Senior Accountant in Ipswich. You will handle statutory accounts, client management, tax and VAT tasks within a supportive team and hybrid work environment.

You can be fully qualified or qualified by experience, but must have UK regulatory experience and strong communication, organisational and technical skills to advance your career in finance.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing statutory accounts for various business structures (sole traders, partnerships, limited companies).
• Strong client management and communication skills with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of UK accounting regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies; lead drafting stage and assist with management accounts.
• Partner with stakeholders, advising on queries and maintaining relationships; relay information clearly.
• Support and mentor Assistant Accountants and Trainees; review entry-level work and provide feedback.
• Assist senior team with corporate tax calculations and personal tax returns.
• Finalise and revise VAT returns; perform bookkeeping as needed.

Working with other high calibre team members your role will include:

• Compliance - Preparing periodic statutory accounts for a wide range of businesses - sole traders, partnerships and limited companies; take the led on assignments to draft stage; assisting with management accounts
• Client management - partner with stakeholders offering advise on queries, escalating when required; relaying detailed information appropriately to your audience; continue to develop sound relationships.
• Involvement - Support and advise Assistant Accountants and Trainees, reviewing entry level work and offering helpful feedback.
• Tax - aiding senior team members with corporate tax calculations and personal tax returns
• VAT - finalising and revising returns; bookkeeping as and when required

We are looking for those who -

You can be part, fully qualified or qualified by experience but must have an appropriate amount of time working to UK regulations and standards in an accountancy firm.
