Job description

SF are currently working exclusively with a fast-growing business based in Nottingham, offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant on a full or part-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic company to work for, providing flexible working options, a great working environment, and no overtime!

Salary and Benefits

• Up to £45,000
• Open to candidates qualified by experience or with only a few ACA/ACCA exams remaining – study support available for final exams
• 2 days working from home
• Flexible working hours, including part-time hours (30+ hours)
• 25 holidays, increasing to 28 after 3 years of service, plus Bank Holidays (only 2 taken at Christmas)

Job Duties

1. Team Oversight: Oversee a team of 2 experienced members, providing support and guidance
2. Practice Management:
   • Support the Director with the operations of the accountancy practice
   • Help, support, and allocate workloads across the team
   • Motivate and support colleagues to deliver excellent client service
   • Maintain client satisfaction through timely and accurate communication
   • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
3. Accountancy & Compliance:
   • Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts, self-assessment tax returns, corporation tax returns, and service charge accounts (property accounting experience is desirable)
   • Liaise directly with clients regarding queries, deadlines, and updates
   • Ensure all filings are completed accurately and on time
   • Provide ad hoc support on bookkeeping or client accounting tasks when needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualified by experience (with AAT) or finalist ACA/ACCA
• Some experience in preparing statutory accounts and year-end duties
• Team player with a family-friendly working environment in mind
• Experience managing a team is not required but preferred
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
