Job summary

Think Accountancy and Finance in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking a Client Manager / Senior Accountant to own a portfolio of clients in a busy accountancy practice. Hybrid working, flexible hours and a supportive team.

You will manage year-end accounts, tax returns, and advisory work, mentor trainees, and coordinate services while building lasting client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice, handling accounts, tax and general practice work.
• Ability to manage a portfolio and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

Client Manager / Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice

Are you an experienced practice accountant who enjoys having ownership of your clients, building genuine relationships and being trusted to deliver a great service?

I’m working with an established and growing accountancy practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme that is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Client Manager / Senior Accountant.

This could be a great opportunity for someone already managing a portfolio, or an experienced Senior Accountant who feels ready to take that next step.

The opportunity

You’ll take ownership of an existing portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, becoming a key point of contact and providing a proactive, high-quality service.

This is'n't simply an accounts production role. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with your clients, understand their businesses and become someone they genuinely rely on.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own portfolio of clients
• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts
• Personal and corporation tax preparation
• Supporting clients with general accountancy and business queries
• Reviewing work prepared by trainees and providing constructive feedback
• Building strong, long-term client relationships
• Working closely with senior management
• Coordinating the overall service delivered to your clients
• Identifying opportunities where additional services could benefit clients
• Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team

Who I'm looking for

You’ll need previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be comfortable across accounts, tax and general practice work.

You could be ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE).

More importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with clients, communicates confidently and wants to join a firm where you can continue developing.
