JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

ROLE TYPE: Permanent, Full-Time

LOCATION: North London

HOURS/DAYS (per week): Mon - Fri (5 days), Office-based until probation, then hybrid working (performance-dependent)

SALARY RANGE: £50,000 per annum + benefits (depending on experience)

My client is a small to medium-sized Chartered Accountants firm headquartered in North London, with over 35 staff across London offices and a large outsourced international team. They are looking to hire key staff as they scale, valuing hard work, ambition, and passion, rewarding efforts and achievements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience with UK GAAP and complex matters
• Delivering compliance and consultancy work, including ad hoc projects
• Accounts and corporation tax experience in a general practice setting
• Handling clients with turnover over £3m and gross assets over £2m independently
• Managing a client portfolio (accounts, corporation tax) suitable to your skills
• Acting as a primary contact, delivering assignments independently and with the Engagement Partner
• Managing projects within budget
• Contributing to firm growth and management
• Reviewing VAT returns
• Assisting with financial accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns
• Providing guidance and development to junior staff

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• ICAEW or ACCA qualification
• Experience in a busy public practice
• Strong integrity, communication, and analytical skills
• Experience in Tax after Brexit
• Knowledge of Iris Accounts Production, VT, Xero (desirable)
