The Role:

Coravin is recruiting a Senior Accountant based in London to support the global finance & accounting team. This position will report to our Senior Director of Finance & Accounting, who is located in Spain. As a key member of the Global Finance Team, you will be working to ensure all tasks are completed on time, in line with Coravin’s processes and procedures, and to a high level of accuracy. In addition, you will work closely with the global finance and accounting teams to ensure that the company is well positioned to support rapid growth.

The global accounting and finance team is small and has great visibility to senior management as a key business partner. The successful candidate will need to feel comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally.

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, providing robust, accurate financial reporting, and supporting the accounting and finance teams. You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be driven to continually find ways to improve processes, and represent the accounting and finance team with professionalism and enthusiasm.

This position is remote, preferably based in London, UK. Other regional travel within the UK and to our Amsterdam office will be minimal.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Management: Supervise AR and AP functions, including thorough reviews of invoice processing, collections, payment application, and vendor management. Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Financial Close Cycle: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes. Review GL transactions for accuracy and completeness, and ensure compliance with US GAAP for all 4 of our reporting regions. Support adherence to a 7 business day close cycle.
  • VAT & GST Returns: Ensure timely and accurate completion of VAT & GST returns and submissions to the proper authorities.
  • Payroll Administration: Manage employee statutory benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, in compliance with local regulations and company policies, and process payroll in Rippling for all of our global entities located in The United States, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia, and the UK. Lead the evaluation and transition of EU payroll to a new provider.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Stay abreast of relevant accounting regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in the Europe and APAC regions. Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with the year-end audits in all global regions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls. Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to optimize accounting and financial operations.
  • Ad hoc Reporting: Assist with reporting needs, including regular reporting around AP and AR, and special projects and reports as business needs arise.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or other related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Work with multiple entities, multiple currencies, and consolidations
  • Experience with payroll administration in one or more of our operating locations (US, UK, NL, AU)
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. sumifs, pivot tables, xlookups, etc.)
  • Experience of accounting software and ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Attention to detail with an orientation towards repeatable and efficient processes
  • Flexibility while working across time zones
  • Collaboration & Communication Tools – Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Slack and SharePoint for internal communication and document management
  • Right to Work in Country
